Move Folios Between Clients

A folio lands under the wrong client. Maybe email ingestion created a new contact from an unfamiliar address. Maybe a spouse forwarded documents from a shared inbox. Until now, fixing it meant deleting the folio and starting over — losing the files, the extracted data, and the history along with it.

Not anymore. You can now reassign a folio to a different client in a few clicks. Everything goes with it.

What's New

Reassign folios without losing work

Every folio edit page now has a move action next to the client name. Click it, pick a new client, and the folio — along with every file, extracted value, and notification — moves with it. No re-uploading, no re-extracting, no duplicate records.

Multi-step confirmation

Moving a folio is a meaningful change, so the flow walks you through it: confirm your intent, search and select the new client, then confirm the move with both client names shown side by side. You can back out at any step.

Searchable client picker

The client selector searches by first name, last name, or email and excludes the current client from the results, so you can't accidentally move a folio onto itself. Results are paginated for companies with large client lists.

How to Use It

  1. Open the folio you want to reassign
  2. Click the move button next to the client name at the top of the edit page
  3. Confirm you want to move the folio
  4. Search for and select the new client
  5. Review the move summary and confirm

You'll land on the folio under its new client, with a confirmation flash.

What's Improved

Safer moves

Folio moves are validated before they're applied — you can't accidentally move a folio onto its existing client, and moves never cross between companies. The rest of the folio editing experience is untouched.
